LEGENDS: GRANDE DAME PAULETTE ATTIE:
LA CRÈME DE LA CRÈME. SHOWBIZ STAR OF THE YEAR, by MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE.
To call Ms. Attie "Divine" or "Sensational" is a childish approach to understand, feel, sense, explore and admire the beautifully intelligent and warmly captivating multidimensional art and multifaceted universe of her creativity. Ms. Attie is larger than life and her talents transcends the ordinary frontiers of limited minds and those who pretend to know art and music without rendering homage only and only to those artists who brought beauty to our world, sun to our homes, fresh breeze to our prairies and a delightful madness to our dreams, wishes and fantasies. Ms. Attie brought those and much more... She brought class, style, elegance, nostalgia, finesse, unbelievable originality, savoir-faire, warmth and depth to the world of music, stage, , radio, television, chansons, operas, and humanities. And what she brought define the standards of excellence in art. You knew the woman as a dazzling and a bright star. But this is NOT enough. P.20- 24

19th and early 20th centuries, will give the public an idea of the wealth and
diversity of this collection that is little-known in France. On the one hand,
the exhibition will present works by “Orientalist” artists such as Chassériau,
Decamps, Delacroix and Fromentin, on the other...P.193

8.PHOTOGRAPHY:
CONRAD OLIVIER, BEST PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR,
by MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE.
If you manage to freeze time and bring it back to life in your camera, you become a magician- photographer. If you succeed in conversing with nature and unfold its secrets through lights, shadows and forbidden thoughts, using a camera and its eloquent silence, you walk through immortality and cross the bridge of human banality. For photography is a divine art, and the photographer who captures the hidden and the secret, the holy and the damned, the fragile whispers of time and the unseen is the parallel definition of an immortal artist. Conrad Olivier is that kind of photographer.P.198 - 208

CABARET DRAMA. THE RISE AND FALL OF "LA GOULUE".
THE FIRST QUEEN OF PARISIAN BURLESQUE CABARET: ENCHANTMENT AND HUMAN DRAMA OF
THE WORLD OF CABARET, by MAXIMILLIEN DE
LAFAYETTE.
Her fall was as dramatic and spectacular as her rise and fame. She earned a fortune but spent it on friends, the needy, the poor, the homeless, the gigolos and scary business investments, including a partnership in an animal-taming act. The once upon a time, famous and wealthy "artiste" became homeless, and old before her time. She was a striper with a heart larger than life but her generosity did not save her from poverty. In 1925 she was found toothless and white-haired in Neuilly-sur-Marne. She returned to Montmartre in 1928 to sell peanuts, cigarettes, roses, cheap dried fruits and matches on the miserable streets of the poor districts of Paris and sometimes near the Moulin Rouge. Yes, she was the toast of Paris. While selling cigarettes in the streets, nobody recognized "La Reine Du Cabaret", the former queen of the Parisian Cabaret and entertainment. She died in 1929 without a name...she had hard time convincing the priest who gave her the last holy sacrament that she was indeed "La Goulue." This is her story and the tale of the early days of Montmatre cabaret and Parisian Can Can... P.209 -222

11.JUDAICA:
THE BEST OF JUDAIC ART: HISTORY, DEVELOPMENT AND STYLES,
by MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE.
Defining what Jewish art is and
who is a Jewish artist is more problematic and subjective than defining art
itself. Jewish artists from all eras and various nations contributed ad
infinitum to various and multiple schools, styles, genres and aspects of
classical, abstract and modern art. In many instances, no Judaic or Hebraic
artistic creativity was ever associated with the nature, the theme and message
of their work. Add to the fact that, many non Jewish artists from all
centuries mirrored and depicted memorable events from the history of Israel,
the Bible and modern Jewish conflicts around the globe. For instance, the
famous “Jewish Polish Village Series” which depicted destroyed wooden
synagogues in Eastern Europe was done by a non-Jewish artist Frank Stella...P.301

12.JAZZ CORNER: It seems everybody wants to be a jazz singer nowadays. People of all ages turn up at 'open mic' sessions to perform their party piece. But why this sudden eruption of would-be vocalists? Maybe because singing looks easier than playing an instrument, although it isn't. Or maybe it's because there are so many good jazz singers in Britain to inspire them. There's Stacey Kent, Tina May, Claire Martin, Clare Teal, Barb Jungr, Anita Wardell, Sheena Davis, Cathie Rae and plenty more. Until recently, the guys had fewer role-models, but then along came Jamie Cullum whose career received a mighty boost when he was signed by Universal. P.306 - 310

13.BEST

DIFFERENT CAMPS AND LIFE’S GALLERIES: THE ART OF ISRAEL AND PALESTINE,
by MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE.
This article reveals truth, reality, unaltered dimensions, feelings, talents and major work of leading Arab and Israeli artists living in the Near East, Middle East and spread around the world. There are a lot of pros and cons opinions expressed herewith. They are NOT ours. Those opinions were deemed indispensable to be included in our article, because they constitute the very fabric of similarities and differences in way of life, politics, social structure and substructure, artistic ideologies and accomplishments, social and artistic struggles, genius, visions of today and tomorrow. This article should prove extremely informative and educational. We have included and encompassed several articles and statements issued by all parties. In addition, we have carefully selected the work of featured Arab and Israeli artists for obvious reasons. We are NOT in the politics business. P.311 - 324

15.HISTORY OF THE FRENCH CABARET AND ENTERTAINMENT

HISTORY
OF MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT, SHOWBIZ AND CABARET IN FRANCE FROM THE 17th CENTURY
TO PRESENT.
This is
the true history of Cabaret and how it came to existence. Our story will bring
so many memories and passages of history forgotten in the dark alleys of life
and on the dusty shelves of our mind. Some names and places are familiar,
while others are obscure and unknown for obvious reasons. More precisely,
because many of those places disappeared long time ago from the old Parisian
landscape. Some were ravished by the hardship of time, others demolished to
give place and definition to modern edifices, offices buildings, parking lots,
and in some instances to be replaced by modern Cabarets, facilities and
locals. As to people’s names, some were forgotten because, they shined for a
while and vanished for reasons we know and reasons we ignore. Once upon a
time, their music and words entertained many sad souls and adventurers who
found comfort and consolation in their warmth and imaginative style. But,
unfortunately, they lost appeal because they became “Demodes” meaning out of
fashion and out of style.
