This book is a prism of the opinions and theories of the most brilliant minds of our times, and an expose of the thoughts and findings of skeptics, believers, therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, UFOlogists, scientists, astronauts, governments’ officials, and the abductees. It contains an astonishing variety of topics, including but not limited to: Alien abduction. Portraits and profiles of alien abductees and their experiences. Sleep paralysis, false memories, trauma and regression hypnosis. Aliens telepathy, intentions and agenda. UFO technology; space/time travel possibilities and paradoxes. Description of the aliens societies, families, physiognomy . Surgical operations performed on abductees. Interviews with leading authorities in the field. Types, categories and origin of aliens. Conspiracies, cover-ups, and alleged governments contacts and treaties with aliens.
Review by the New York Monthly Herald:
"With simplicity and integrity, the author provided ample evidence about the existence of UFOs. He clearly explained how an UFO functions, and described all the technology used to fly these machines. The chapters on abduction and the role of hypnosis are fascinating. The book is very convincing far from absurd claims and stories hard to believe. In brief, this book is reliable and essential for both the believer and skeptic. Get your copy."

Review
by the New York Monthly Herald:
A very serious book on extraterrestrials and UFOs well written by a trusted scholar. This is the kind of book ufologists and the general public should read to learn the real things about UFOs and these phenomena. Prof. Maximillien de Lafayette is a serious writer who approaches the subject from different angles: Science, physics, cosmology and real facts. This book is as informative and important as the book, Lafayette wrote previously: Extraterrestrials-US Government Treaty and Agreements. It is simply fascinating." ___________________________________________________________ Review by Shoshanna Rosenstein. Syndicated Columnist, WJNA, International News Agency, FAMSPA.
The book is written for the intelligent readers and
all those who really want to understand the origin of aliens and
extraterrestrial civilizations. It is both Ufology book per se, and
scientific because it explains purely scientific subjects such as:
Possibilities and limitation of time travel, Time travel paradoxes,
quantum physics and parallel universes. The captivating part of the
book are the chapters that they deal with statements given by US
astronauts when they saw UFOS on the moon, and the public statements
of Gordon Cooper, extraterrestrial politics in the White House, United
States government way of communicating and working with aliens on
bases on earth, description of the planet of aliens, and how they
reproduce and live on Zeta Reticuli. explanation of interstellar
travel and UFO gravitic propulsion, description of the interior of a
UFO, and above all the detailed story of how aliens left their
original planets (they are more than 46 planets and 46 different races
of aliens) and came to earth with a particular plan for the human
race. Many aliens according to researchers mentioned in the book refer
us to military bases when Aliens from Zeta Reticuli - stil -conducting
genetic experiments on humans, and especially American pregnant
women!! Great great book. Unique and explosive, as good as the other
book written by Maximillien de Lafayette's "The Anunnaki's Genetic
Creation of the Human Race". |
About the book: Anyone who thinks that our universe is a simple one, where two and two always add to four, and where all we needed to know we had learned in the proverbial kindergarten, lives in denial. This is a very complex universe and just a glimpse into the works of such greats as Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, or even the early visionaries like Leonardo da Vinci or Emanuel Kant, will shake anyone’s complacent world view after a few minutes of reading.
As human beings, we seek comfort. Perhaps we are finding it in religion; perhaps we look for it in the teachings of Kabbalah or New Age. We feel the need to know, to understand, because if we do not we cannot be comfortable and may even be scared. And the factions of conservative religions, atheism, science, spirituality, evolution supporters, creationists, etc., clash and fight, each honestly convinced that their own views are the only correct ones, and the rest of the world must be persuaded to follow that path. But to read, understand, and enjoy this book, try to adopt the one and only state of mind that would allow it: for a few hours, try to be an agnostic. Adopt the one tenet of the true agnostic, which is, very simply, the admission that you simply don’t know. That you cannot know, because you are three-dimensional while the universe is multi-dimensional. That you are willing to open your mind to the possibilities – and perhaps enjoy the freedom and liberation that such attitude can bring. This book has everything, and it does not take a judgemental stand. It reports, discusses, and engages the reader in fruitful lines of investigation and independent thought. From time travel to UFO phenomena, from modern physics and the role of the astronauts and the military to blatant cover-ups and controversies, from the views of the most distinguished scientists and thinkers of our time to sceptics and scoffers, it simply covers the field in the most complete way one can hope to find in a single volume. The book can be read from beginning to end and be greatly enjoyed by any intelligent reader. However, some of us may have a pet topic. Perhaps you are fond of cover-ups? Perhaps, specifically, presidential involvement? You will find a chapter about it. Eisenhower, Bush, Clinton, Truman? They are there. Interested in Element115? Hard to find, right? Well, here you will find it in detail. Travel exceeding the speed of light? Of course. Relationship with Zeta Reticuli? Right here. And you don’t have to be a believer. Part III will support the opposition. This is a spectacular book, written in a language that all of us can understand, but never talks down. It will enlighten and entertain and give you food for thought and reflection for years to come. And if I may indulge in a cliché – it may change your life!

Biographical Encyclopedia of People In Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research
By Richard Sands, Staff Writer
We are familiar with traditional encyclopedias of science and literature, but an encyclopedia of Ufologists and researchers of the paranormal? Well, yes, it did happen! Amazon.com Publishing Company with the collaboration of Times Square Press have just released the first volume of a massive work "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research", written by the legendary Maximillien de Lafayette who has to his credits 118 books and an astonishing number of reference books on culture, religion, art, civilization and international law. Needles to say, this encyclopedia is quite unique in essence and concept. It contains the profiles, biographies and career highlights of the most prominent personalities of Ufology, ranging from hypnotherapists, psychologists, and university professors, to theologians, debunkers and believers. According to London-based Carol Lexter, editor of this most impressive work, only those who have made their mark in the field are written up in the encyclopedia. One of the criteria for inclusion requires a solid academic background and authorship. In other words, serious writers, scientists, researchers, hypnotherapists, and highly respected Ufologists graced the pages of the encyclopedia. Lexter added: "The roster of the personalities written up in the book includes some of the most brilliant minds in various cultural, educational and scientific disciplines...and who sincerely believe in extraterrestrial civilizations and paranormal faculties." Lexter did mention some of these names. And in fact, Lexter did focus on their credentials, the respect they enjoy in the community and their authorship. Lexter also said that only those who are known for their serious research and bona fide academic credentials are featured in the encyclopedia. Among the honorees are Dr William Birnes, Nancy Hayfield Birns, Alexandra "Chica" Bruce, Richard Dolan, Dr Richard Boylan, Dr Michael Salla, Dr David Jacobs, Barbara Lamb, Mary Rodwell, Dr Lynne D. Kitei, and Ellie Crystal.

World Celebrities and Bestselling Authors in Ufology Encyclopedia
BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PEOPLE IN UFOLOGY AND SCIENTIFIC EXTRATERRESTRIAL RESEARCH
This extraordinary book is about one of the most timely issues of the 21st Century, and it deals with it in a unique way. For the first time in sixty years, a biographical encyclopedia has brought together an astounding number of extremely distinguished professionals from all walks of life, whose only connecting characteristic is that they have decided to investigate the twin phenomena of Ufology and Extraterrestrial Research.
Scientists, philosophers, physicians, military personnel, astronauts, are just some of the people you will meet. Open the book at random, and no matter which letter of the alphabet is represented, you will find someone whose name you probably have heard as a key figure in some important project or research. These are the people you see on TV and hear on the radio, discussing the most sensitive issues of science, politics, or ethics. These are the people whose books you get as soon as they are published. And yet, all of these great minds have gone out on a limb and proclaimed the need to investigate the unknown, despite the dangers of ridicule, disbelief, or worse. Recently, there has been a new surge of UFO sightings. In addition, more and more relevant and amazing data is being released by various governments. And new people join the ranks of those who are not afraid to open their minds, who really want to know, who feel we could benefit from honest and direct research and knowledge of what is really going on, what is covered up, and what should they expect in the near future.
Therefore, this book becomes an arena, a forum. It is very likely that many of the people who are in it do not even know the sheer numbers of those who can now be called colleagues in this new field. Hopefully, the opportunity thus presented will encourage them to contact each other, particularly those who are in fields which are totally unconnected. If and when these people get together and develop joint research, there is no limit to what they can do, where they can go, and where, hopefully, they will lead the rest of us.
Only The Best of the Best Are Included!
The Encyclopedia is a world who's who of the most distinguished scientists, physicians, authors, educators, therapists and psychics. It encompasses the believers and the skeptics ranging from top military men and psychiatrists to bestselling authors and university professors. The author, Maximillien de Lafayette who wrote over 100 books and 7 encyclopedia was very careful in the selection process. He stated in the preface of the book that only serious ufologists and distinguished members of the Ufology community were written up in the encyclopedia. Although, he is not an ufologist himself, Dr. de Lafayette's interest in these phenomena began some 20 years ago, while studying Asian philosophy in India, China and Okinawa. Lafayette said that they are so many credible witnesses and eminent scientists who came forward and reported UFOs sightings, and consequently the question of extraterrestrial cultures must be addressed on a larger scale, and always in a scientific manner. His approach could perhaps explain the fact why he has selected the most serious and respected Ufologists and ignored thousands of so-called Ufologists and "wacko" researchers. Lafayette's book is a major accomplishment paying tribute "to those who deserve recognition...and those who have earned our trust", explained Lafayette. More than 30 writers and data experts collaborated with Lafayette in compiling the list and verifying the credentials and claims of listees. Carol Lexter, the driving force behind this gigantic task said that the Encyclopedia presents to the world the career highlights and outstanding accomplishments of Ufologists worldwide. Carol Lexter added that out of thousands and thousands of members of the ufology community, only 1,000 individuals were chosen. The integrity of the editorial board is on the line, therefore, we were very cautious when we decided on who is going to be in and who is to be left out. Already the ufology field is a negative one, taking into consideration the rampant badmouthing and derogatory articles written by ufologists against peers and colleagues. Among the most recognizable personalities who were written up in the Encyclopedia are: Barbara Lamb, a highly respected therapist, family and marriage counselor, Australian lecturer extraordinaire, Mary Rodwell, Dr. Lynne Kitei who authored a ravishing book on UFO's sightings over Phoenix, world famous authority on dolphins, Joan Ocean, Nancy Birnes, a well-known personality in publishing and highly respected author, Dr. William Birns who is a powerful figure in the Ufology community, Dr. Michael Salla, controversial but always captivating, Dr. David Jacobs who made waves worldwide, Zecharia Sitchen, aka godfather of alternative archaeology, Dr. Ellie Crystal, a colorful and charming psychic from Brooklyn, New York, in addition to a fleet of household names in academia, science and media.

Who said Ufology and Aliens got to be austere? The mood has changed with glamorous and fun female writers entering the arena of that enigmatic cosmos of aliens and UFOs! Yep! They dashed out colorful and most unusual books on flying saucers sightings, hypnosis, and deep human emotions. In a way, they have blended together, mysteries, vibrant phraseology, science and their scents! All this makes Ufology a more interesting world to explore. How about their males counterparts? Not very glamorous, but equally motivating and intriguing. To learn more about these celebrities, bubbly figures, seasoned writers and bestselling authors, you must read Maximillien de Lafayette's most recent book Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research; a massive compendium of the profiles and biographies of Ufologists and celebrities of the outer galactic realm! I did not know how many women writers have written on the subject until I read Lafayette's book. You will find them in the Encyclopedia, and they come from different fields and professions; physicians, counselors, college professors, fashion designers, jazz singers, ministers, astrophysicists, psychics, tarot readers, channelers, and "UFO hunters!"...I did not catch the last one.

Quite often, we read frightening articles about alien abduction, extraterrestrial threat, bad bad "Greys" from outer space and the end of the world in 2012! Quite disturbing stuff. However, when you read the biographies of some of the authors in Lafayette's Encyclopedia, the alien scenario changes tone and conveys a message of hope. Primo, because of the positive description of Aliens and their good will, and Segundo, because of the comfort and consolation offered by regression hypnosis therapists. I admit it is very confusing, nevertheless, the extraterrestrials' topics as explained by a limited number of UFOlogy writers become clearer and easier to comprehend, as long as no elaborate theses on conspiracies take over the canvases of alien invasion and menace. But this is NOT the main topic of Lafayette's book. It is purely biographical. I could not read the whole book; it is huge. However, randomly, I browsed a considerable number of profile entries, and became very impressed by the credentials, undertakings, serious published work, and accomplishments of male and female writers and UFO's scientists, gloriously depicted in the Encyclopedia. Those who caught my attention are evidently "those" who were depicted by the author as "the best of the best". To name a few: Dr. Paul Bennewitz, Nancy Hayfield Birnes, Dr. William Birnes, Dr. Richard Boylan, Branton, Dr. Courtney Brown, Barbara Lamb, Dr. Lynne Kitei, Mary Rodwell, Ellie Crystal, Joan Ocean, Richard Dolan, Dr. David Jacobs, Dr. J. Allen Hnek, et al....Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research, is rendering an enormous service to ufologists, researchers and students of Ufology and related fields. It is concise, comprehensive, authoritative and abundant with useful profiles and biographies. Add it to your library. You will enjoy it for years to come. And hurry up, don't let 2012 catch you around the corner!
#4 Review by the International Herald Daily News. http://www.internationalheralddailynews.org/more_top_stories.htm
La Crème de La Crème of Ufology in a New Encyclopedia by Maximillien de Lafayette
LONDON- Educators, social workers, doctors and scientists, all have their who's who and directories, but not UFOs' writers, researchers and related contributors, until now...that is! An enormous directory in the format of an encyclopedia surfaced this week, and gathering the bios and personal profiles of leading and prominent figures in Ufology, paranormal and hypnosis "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research", authored by veteran author and scholar, Maximillien De Lafayette. Just the title by itself should attract the attention of Ufologists and curious media. Who are those people? Qualifications? And why they are here? Germaine Poitiers and Carol Lexter, editors of the encyclopedia told the International Herald Daily News "Now, the general public will learn about the contributions and work of serious Ufologists and researchers in assimilated disciplines. The encyclopedia contains the profiles, biographies and major works of all those individuals who made their mark in the field of Ufology and the study of extraterrestrial civilizations. It is a serious, comprehensive and informative book, based upon years of research and compilation. We have included la crème de la crème of Ufology, hypnosis and psychics-channelers...There are more than 700,000 people who are involved, but we had to select the best of the best from around the globe.
Asking Lexter "Any major household name we might recognize if we flip the pages of the encyclopedia?" Lexter was so quick to answer: "Absolutely. You will find illustrious writers, bestselling authors, academicians and scientists... I mean top of the line in their field." You mean all those people are believers in UFOs? I asked Lexter. Poitiers explained: "Yes indeed. They are not only believers, but serious researchers with advanced degrees, PhDs and noted scholarship. Many of them are physicians, college professors and acclaimed hypnotherapists...let me give you some names, Barbara Lamb is very well known all over the world as a marriage counselor, therapist, and author. Dr Michael Salla is a remarkable scholar with traditional and very impressive academic background. Dr. William Birnes, a PH.D. and a JD who wrote numerous books, and is widely recognized as an educator and a bestselling author. Nancy Hayfield Birnes who has a remarkable background in writing and publishing. Mary Rodwell, who is known for her research and services in hypnotherapy...Dr. Lynn D. Kitei, highly respected physician and author, Joan Ocean is a world-renowned author, scholar and speaker on the fascinating topic of free-swimming dolphins and whales. Her books have been published in more than seven languages, Ellie Crystal, a Ph.D. in metaphysics and an outstanding lecturer...The list is endless."No doubt, "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research" will serve its purpose, and will enable the public to learn more about the work and research of serious Ufologists. However, one major question remains: What would be the reaction of thousands of Ufologists who were not written-up in the book? Only time will tell.

The title is academic "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research." This work is the product of the creative mind of author extraordinaire, Maximillien de Lafayette, known for his writings and essays on entertainment, art, comparative civilizations and history of world culture. The subtitle is equally impressive and goes like this "Leading Authorities, Scientists, Personalities and People Who Matter." I met Mr. de Lafayette in 1980, in Paris, when he was the editor-in-chief of World Art Celebrities Journal. We talked about so many subjects and flirted with philosophical ideas and artistic concepts, but never approached the subject of UFOs and extraterrestrials. A quarter of century later, Lafayette surprises millions of his readers with the publication of 9 books on "Aliens", and Ufologists!
The
Anunnaki's Genetic Creation of the Human Race, by Maximillien de
Lafayette.
According to insiders and to his entourage, De Lafayette's interest in the paranormal started longtime ago, when he began to study Sufism in Cairo, and the Mahayana Buddhism in India and Okinawa, Japan. It was reported that in 1979, De Lafayette was introduced to a secret society of learned thinkers in Cairo referred to as "The Ulemas". It is not a sect or an occult group. It is rather a society of scientists, and students of Asian philosophy, Medieval theology and parapsychology. This was then. And nothing came out of it until 2007, when all of a sudden, 9 of his books on UFOs, alien abduction and space/time travel were published in the United Kingdom, France and the United States. One book in particular "The Anunnaki's Genetic Creation of the Human Race" caught the attention of his readers. The book was published in January 2008, and apparently it is making waves. His most recent published work is "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research."
Importance of this Encyclopedia and those who are in it
According to Shoshanna Rosenstein, a New York's syndicated columnist and one of the editors of the Encyclopedia, "this large first volume marks the beginning of a global and serious data and reference source on Ufologists to be taken seriously. Those who were written-up in the encyclopedia are legitimate Ufologists and researchers of these galactic phenomena...Only serious authors, writers, investigators and hypnotherapists were included." Carol Lexter, the senior editor of the encyclopedia said " Surf the Internet, and you will see zillions of so-called UFOlogists Do you know which one is real and which one is FAKE? Hard to find out, right? How would you know? Well, now you can, thanks to the "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research." Any criteria for inclusion? Paris-based journalist Germaine Poitiers who worked on the Encyclopedia said "We could not squeeze in thousands and thousands of people...We determined that ONLY and ONLY the most credible ones should be included, based upon their published work, findings and status. I want to clarify one thing, we were very careful in the way we chose Ufologists and researchers. Preference was given to individuals with solid academic credentials, serious publications and genuine interest in Ufology. Yes, you could say this is the world's first and most authoritative source of reference on Ufologists..."
Carol Lexter: All the big names are in the Encyclopedia
"The importance of the Encyclopedia resides in the importance of scholars, scientists and researchers featured in the Encyclopedia. In other words, the Encyclopedia on one hand pays tribute to legitimate and accredited members of the UFOlogy community, and on another hand, it draws its power from the credibility and respected position of genuine UFOlogists. There are no personal statements or favoritism, only accurate depiction of the accomplishments of serious people who proved themselves to be credible, honest and well-informed. You can call them "authority in the field" explained Carol Lexter.
Who is in and who was left out?
It is not so hard to find out. Browsing the table of contents of the encyclopedia leads the readers to illustrious and well-known figures and personalities in UFOlogy. Some of the most recognizable names are Al Bielek, Dr. William Birns, Dr. David Jacobs, Nancy Hayfield Birns, Vannevar Bush, Stan Friedman, Dr. Richard Boylan, Dr. Michael Salla, Barbara Lamb, Dr. Lynne Kitei, Dr. Carl Jung, Dr. Ellie Crystal, Budd Hopkins, Mary Rodwell, Jim Marrs, Dr. Bruce Maccabee, Dr. Roger Lier, etc...What's next on De Lafayette's agenda? He is currently working on 2 massive books; World Who's Who in Ufology and Extraterrestrial Studies, a 750 page compendium, and Thematic Encyclopedia of Ufology, a compilation of the informative and well-researched essays and articles by leading authorities in UFOlogy.
MAXIMUM EXPOSURE FOR UFOLOGISTS, GIVEN BY "BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PEOPLE IN UFOLOGY AND SCIENTIFIC EXTRATERRESTRIAL RESEARCH."
Now
you can find them in a serious encyclopedia. Before, they were scattered
in websites articles. Not even the yellow pages grouped them in a
category. I am talking about ufologists, and alien abduction specialists
and therapists. Ufology? You bet! It is not a science yet, but this
could change in the forthcoming years. More TV coverage and news
reporting on UFOs are entering our living room. But the biggest boost
came from the most unexpected source; it came from Maximillien de
Lafayette, the world famous art critic and historian of ancient
civilizations and medieval philosophy. De Lafayette's biggest surprise
was the publication of his academic-biographical encyclopedia of
contemporary ufology.
De Lafayette's "Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research" has been published this week by Times Square Press and Amazon.com Publishing Company. This unusual, unique book, creates a place where the great minds, many of whom extremely well-known and highly respected for the various fields they were associated with before they got involved with ufology, can finally be grouped.
Photo:
Ellie Crystal, a psychic and author received a glowing write-up in the
encyclopedia.
The interested reader can find them, and best of all, they can find each other since the book lists e-mail addresses and websites. This group includes many Jewish scholars of various fields, surprisingly, even rabbis. Though why should it be surprising? After all, there is no conflict between religion and science, even according to the greatest scientists and theologians of our time. If the Big Bang can correspond to Genesis, and if Monsignor Corrado Balducci, can say that God could very likely create life on any planet, why not open our minds, read this book with care, and learn something. Among the most famous Jewish scholars and researchers in Ufology who took the lead in the encyclopedia are Zecharia Sitchin, Stanton Friedman, Ellie Crystal, and SETI's Baruch Blumberg.

Zecharia Sitchin conversing with Vatican's Monsignor Corrado Balducci, about extraterrestrials in Rome, Italy. Both men are written up in De Lafayette's Encyclopedia.
Friedman
Staton, highly regarded by the editors of the encyclopedia.
Other important UFOs books by Maximillien de Lafayette that are opening new windows on these strange phenomena are "FROM ZETA RETICULI TO EARTH, " "THE ANUNNAKI'S GENETIC CREATION OF THE HUMAN RACE," and EXTRATERRESTRIALS-US GOVERNMENT TREATY AND AGREEMENTS, all published this year.
I am wondering why no one has ever thought about writing such an encyclopedia, especially where many of these ufologists are noted authors themselves and were on the New York best selling author list. This is extremely timely and a much needed book. I highly recommend this encyclopedia to anyone possessing an interest in our universe.- David Blum

CELEBRITIES AND POWERFUL MEN AND
WOMEN OF UFOLOGY
Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research Boosts the Credibility of Ufologists
Ufologists can still make headlines without UFOs sightings. All what they need is either a fashion show from outer space orchestrated by Paris Hilton, or a serious publication telling us how nice and important they are! This month, Ufologists got a major boost and a worldwide exposure from Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research, an impressive and very well-documented book containing the profiles and biographies of the major key players and celebrities of ufology. The encyclopedia is written by the prolific Maximillien de Lafayette who is an outsider. Lafayette is a highly respected author of books on modern thought and comparative civilizations. He does not belong to any UFO group, nor does he lecture on aliens. And this is exactly what makes his encyclopedia an unbiased and authoritative reference tool. But does he believe in UFOs? Lafayette would not tell. So how come, this traditional scholar and highly sophisticated writer got involved with ufology? Lafayette said "Ufology could become the most important academic curriculum." What? Teaching subjects on UFOs in schools? It seems bizarre, but once you browse Lafayette's encyclopedia, you might change your mind. Data provided by the Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research, shows that 65% of Ufologists have a Ph.D., 82% earned a graduate degree, and 51% are published authors. Quite impressive indeed.
From Zeta Reticuli to Earth: Time, Space and the UFO Technology. Lafayette's first book on UFOs. This encyclopedia is the world's largest and first biographical encyclopedia of the most important people, scientists, researchers, writers in ufology, as well as the most famous skeptics of all time. It depicts their life, times, career highlights, theories, opinions, work, writings and contributions. Lafayette's first book on ufology is From Zeta Reticuli to Earth: Time, Space and the UFO Technology. According to reviewers and ufology students, this book has everything, and it does not take a judgmental stand. It reports, discusses, and engages the reader in fruitful lines of investigation and independent thought. From time travel to UFO phenomena, from modern physics and the role of the astronauts and the military to blatant cover-ups and controversies, from the views of the most distinguished scientists and thinkers of our time to skeptics and scoffers, it simply covers the field in the most complete way one can hope to find in a single volume. Who are the most powerful and influential people in ufology? The Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research does not tell. However, if you read between the lines, you sense that the editors -indirectly- have their favorites. Not exactly, because the book is a solid source of reference, nevertheless, readers are led to believe that some ufologists are more important than others. And this becomes obvious, taking into consideration the length of their biographies, and most importantly, whether a sample of their writings was or was not included in their profiles. If an ufologist's profile entry includes statements and an article -no matter how small it is - this could be considered as an indication or a reference to an important status. Those who fell into this category are unquestionably the most influential ufologists. I will not spoil the game nor the suspense, read the book and be your own judge. But it is worth mentioning that the following names occupied a privileged position in Lafayette's encyclopedia: Dr. David Adair, Dr. Steven Greer, Dr. Stephen Hawking, Dr. Carl Jung, Dr. John Alexander, Haktan Akdogan, Colin Andrews, Nancy Hayfield Birnes, George C. Andrews, Walter H. Andrus, Dr. Bill Birnes, Dr. Lynne Kitei, Barbara Lamb, Dr. Ellie Crystal, Neil Armstrong, Kenneth Arnold, Deane Ashayana, Mary Rodwell, Dr. Michael Salla, Dr. Richard Boylan, Richard Dolan, Barbara Bartholic, Stephen Bassett, Dr. Paul Bennewitz, Colin Bennett, Al Bielek, Stan Friedman, B.J. Booth, Branton, Arthur Bray, Wilbert Brockhouse Smith, Peter Brookesmith, Dr. Courtney Brown, Dr. Thomas Brown Townsend, Georgina Bruni, Larry Bryant, Dr. Dan Burisch, Grant Cameron, Dolores Cannon, John Carpenter, James Carrion, Sean Casteel, Dr. David Jacobs, Dr. Zecharia Sitchin, Joan Ocean, Alex Collier, James Contable Trevor, Gordon Cooper, William Cooper, Philip Corso, Bob Lazar, Dave Cosnette, Peter Davenport, Lisa Davis, Robert Dean, Preston Dennett, Glenn Dennis, Richard Dolan, Jim Dillettoso, Terence Dickinson, Richard Doty, Dr. Frank Drake, George Eberhart, Don Ecker, Brit Elders, Jose Escamilla, Carl Feindt, Joseph Firmage, Timothy Good, Stan Gordon, John Greenewald, Leah Haley, Bill Hamilton, Bonnie Jean Hamilton, Dr. James Harder, Donna Hare (Tietze), Dr. Daniel Harris, J.B. Hartranft, Michael Hesemann, Hayden Hewes, Paul R. Hill, Richard C. Hoagland, Budd Hopkins, Patrick Huyghe, Dr. Allen J. Hyneck, Tony James, Colleen Johnston, Debbie Jordan-Kauble.Dr. John Kasher, Leslie Kean, John Keel, Donald E. Keyhoe, George Knapp, Dr. Roger Leir, Michael Lindemann, Dr. Bruce Maccabee, Dr. John E. BOOKS: Major Encyclopedic Publication on Ufologists BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PEOPLE IN UFOLOGY AND SCIENTIFIC EXTRATERRESTRIAL RESEARCH Nigel Huntington, Senior Foreign Correspondent
LONDON- I am putting aside my Britannica, to sink my teeth in a new kind of encyclopedias, totally unexpected, perfectly unique, and instrumental for ufologists and lovers of the UFOs. The title is self-explanatory: Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research. It coincides with the Encyclopedia of the 21st Century, Biographies and Profiles of the First Decade, both written by Maximillien de Lafayette, a renaissance man, socialite and illustrious author. Of course, they differ in contents. Here in London, the UFO encyclopedia is taking enthusiasts of the paranormal by storm. What is so special about it? Many things.

UFOs,EXTRATERRESTRIALS & PARANORMAL SOME UFOLOGISTS ARE ALSO STARS & DIVAS!
The world of entertainment steams with icons and stars, and so does Ufology...NOW! Thanks to Maximillien de Lafayette's Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research, a well-crafted book that is making headlines in the media. Insiders are saying that this book is so much needed. So many books were written about flying saucers and aliens' encounters, but none on people who inhabit the world of Ufology; the official figures of this field. Who are they? Where did they come from? What are they up to? And what role do they play in the society...outside their own UFOs community? The encyclopedia answers all these questions. But to grasp its whole message and understand the world of supernatural phenomena and ufologiy, its stars and divas , we interviewed Carol Lexter, the brain and soul behind this project. Q: I read three of Maximillien de Lafayette’s recent books on UFOS. Quite impressive. My favorite is The Anunnaki’s Genetic Creation of the Human Race. Carol: A great book, one of my favorites. Q: How does he is come up with stuff like this? Mind boggling. Carol: Powerful book, I know. Well, what he does is presenting the theories and opinions of leading authorities in ufology. People like that. He is not pompous and presumptuous. He says it the way it is. I mean, he tells you exactly what respected scholars think about the subject. Q: What is his personal take on the Anunnaki? Does he really believe some aliens landed here on earth and created us? Carol: He never said that. You see he is very careful. He keeps his thoughts for himself. Instead he uses his books a platform for the most advanced ideas and concepts. Mind you, they are all based on science, serious research and...Q: OK, but what is his personal opinion about UFOs and aliens? Carol: Well, he said it himself “I am not an ufologist. I just listen, listen, listen and report." Q: You are avoiding my question… Carol: I am not. Really...look, read all his books, this man never predicted a thing, or wrote anything that raises red flag. He compiles data, facts and the latest views on the subject. This is what intelligent people want to read about. Q: His latest one I think is the encyclopedia, right? Carol: Yes and no. We just published the Biographical Encyclopedia this week, but there are two more books en route; World Who's Who in Ufology, Supernatural and Psychic Phenomena and UFO-USO AND EXTRATERRESTRIALS OF THE SEA; it is about Flying Saucers and Aliens's Civilizations, Life and Bases Underwater. Q: This encyclopedia is what exactly? Carol: It contains the biographies, profiles and description of the career highlights of the most recognizable ufologists. Some profile entries include excerpts from their writings. Quite unusual, because it is more than biographical work. It sheds lights on the personality, character and works of ufologists. Q: How many people are written up in the encyclopedia? Carol: Close to 1,100 persons. Q: Women too? Carol: Absolutely, some are the best in the business…call them the divas of ufology if you want. Q: Divas? You are kidding? Carol: I am not. They are the superstars of ufology and paranormal. Q: Give me some names. Carol: Now? Q: Do your best. Carol: You are putting me on the spot…let’s see...I am not supposed to do that. OK, Barbara Lamb is great, really great, Dr. Lynne Kitei, I like her a lot, she is very convincing and bright, Mary Rodwell is terrific, she knows a lot, Nancy Hayfield Birmes is first class, magnificent writer and bubbly, she is full of life, Ellie Crystal is someone you get to know, she is funny and extremely well-informed, she is really good...Alexandra Bruce is terrific, great writer, I just love her two books "Beyond the Secret" and "Beyond the Bleep." Eugenia Macer Story is a great lady, a poet, dramatist, and has also been awarded "Artiste de la Communaute Europeenne" by the Federation of French artists and the title of Professor of Arts by the Italian Accademia Internazionale, Georgina Bruni is world famous, her books are superb, Angelika Whitecliff, a world-class clairvoyant and captivating lecturer, the Emmy award-winning, Linda Moulton Howe, and of course, the late Dr. Karla Turner. We are talking here about first class people! Q: Is Shirley McLaine in the book? Carol: Yes, in volume two. Q: And Madonna? Carol: Same thing, in volume two. Q: How about men ufologists...are they divas too? Should I say divos? Carol: You are a silly goose. Q: So tell me who are they? Household names, celebrities, NASA people, or...

UFOs,EXTRATERRESTRIALS & PARANORMAL Cont'd from P.1 UFOLOGISTS: HOW CONVINCING ARE THEY? Carol: Some are extremely important...I am not talking here about UFOs , I am talking about what they have accomplished in other areas...totally unrelated to ufology, so you will understand that these people are winners and achievers. Many of them are highly respected college professors, producers, playwrights, scientists, astronomers, astrophysicists, academicians, bestselling authors, lawyers, physicians, futurists like Stan Friedman, Dr. Richard Boylan, Dr. Michael Salla, Dr. Zecharia Sitchin, Dr. David Jacobs, Paul Davids, Dr. David Adair, Nick Pope, Patrick Huyghe, Dr. Allen Hynek, Dr. Steven Greer, Dr. Billy Birnes, Dr. Robert Leir...I mean these people are accomplished professionals. Q: And all of them believe in UFOs? Carol: Yes, they do. Q: And they are in the encyclopedia? Carol: Yes, they are. Q: Did you miss any? Carol: Honestly? Yes! But, volume two will include more names, and the Yearbook will contain additional names. We are working on it. Q: How big is this encyclopedia? Carol: Almost 1,900 pages counting the two volumes and the Yearbook. Q: Were they cooperative? Carol: The majority...yes. Q: And the others? Carol: Well, some replied after the deadlines...it was too late to add their names, this is why we have the Yearbook. Q: You said the encyclopedia tells a lot about the persona and character of ufologists. From your contacts with them, what did you sense? What you could tell about them? Are they eccentric, bizarre, serious...good people? Carol: I see...you have tendency to believe that ufologists are sort of weirdoes, right? Well, you are wrong...Q: wait, wait a second, I did not say this....Carol: But you hinted...Q: No, no, I did not. It was a simple question because many of us do not take UFOs seriously. I do not deny that some other life forms exist somewhere in the galaxy, I am just saying that people make mistakes in seeing or reporting something they saw...that's all. Carol: Anyway...read carefully the encyclopedia. You will see...some of the ufologists are among the brightest men of our modern times. Q: No problem...that's fine. Carol, tell me more about Lafayette. How well do you know him? Let me finish please, I know he is a genius and prolific, but what I am interested in is Lafayette the man not the celebrity and UFOs stuff writer...Carol: Why you keep on repeating UFOs stuff? This is NOT stuff...this is a very serious field that deserves global attention. Lafayette predicts that soon or later, ufology will be taught in schools. Q: Really? Carol: You bet your gazebo!. Let's go back to your question, you know a man from his deeds, from what he writes about and from his way of thinking...and above all from what he believes in. How could anyone not respect and admire a man who said "The generosity of your heart is your one way ticket to immortality...Be always generous with and toward everybody and particularly with those who cannot return the favor...Every time you give from your heart, you grow one inch taller...Fight loudly, give and forgive silently...Make your country a country of milk powder not gun powder...The most beautiful sight to my eyes is the smile of the woman I love.” This is what Maximillien de Lafayette said! Q: Very honorable. Carol: And don't ever forget it. Q: Final question, may I? Carol: Shoot. Q: Who is going to buy this encyclopedia besides UFOs people? Carol: Colleges, campuses libraries, public libraries, reference centers, the media, entertainment industry, scientists, the general public, you name it. Q: Carol, you were terrific...love to talk to you again...hopefully soon. Carol: Likewise. Be a good boy and spread the word. Q: Will do! I went back to read more about the big names in ufology mentioned by Carol Lexter in the Biographical Encyclopedia of People in Ufology and Scientific Extraterrestrial Research. I have to admit some ufologists are bona fide celebrities and highly admired in the scientific community despite their claims. The effect and impact of Lafayette's encyclopedia on cosmopolitan readers are already felt. Due to the fact, that this encyclopedia is not an UFO soap opera or a fictional story about abductees, its importance as a biographical reference will be recognized and honored by learned societies, libraries and innovative thinkers. It is a fact, the encyclopedia enhances the credibility of ufologists no matter what they believe in or fantasize about. |
Prolific and impressive author Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble and almost every known bookseller and book distributor sells Maximillien de Lafayette's books. The man is a genius. One of his world premiere musical melodramas was performed at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. He is fluent in 7 languages and he wrote 4 volumes of the Ten Language Universal Dictionary. His latest book is Encyclopedia of the 21st Century: Biographies and Profiles of the First Decade, totally unrelated to ufology. However, he did write extensively on UFOs and extraterrestrials. ULEMA: CODE AND LANGUAGE OF THE WORLD BEYOND
THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR EVER!!
About the book: This is NOT a book on magic, occultism, channeling, spirits, and communicating with the dead! Simply because the author does not believe in “such things” as he put it bluntly. The book is far deeper and more complex. It has roots in science, power of the mind, and transmutation of thoughts and visions into mental rapport with Ulemas who communicate with terrestrial beings through codes and secret language known to very few. It is hard to categorize the content of this book, since it does not belong to the commonly known aspects and teachings of “new age”, Eastern philosophy, mind-body concepts, meditation, Zen, Yoga, spirituality, “energy”, and similar disciplines.
For years, the author was reluctant to put in writing what he has discovered and learned from a secret group of scientists, philosophers and inquisitive minds who believe in a parallel world, and the scientifico-mental powers of the mind.
They are the ULEMAS; they do not teach religion, nor impose any moral doctrine. They hold a secret; the ultimate knowledge of at least one world beyond the one we know. In this book, the author tries to explain their thoughts, and attempts to introduce us to some codes and techniques they use to communicate with far more advanced “cosmic presence.” No! They are not UFO, extra-terrestrials, or the spirits of the dead. They are the manifestation of an “intelligence” the human race can benefit from. This book can change the way you understand the world you live in, and open your eyes to “unseen powerful and positive intelligence” that surrounds you, lives around you, and could change your whole life.

THE REVIEWS:
NEW YORK STARLETS, STARS AND DIVAS UNDER THE MICROSCOPE OF MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE
By Esther Cohen-Hamilton, EUROGLOBE, World News.

Photo:
Diva Carol Welsman and President Bill Clinton. Gloria Loring.
Author extraordinaire, Maximillien de Lafayette is having fun, because everybody who is somebody in showbiz is talking and gossiping about his latest book Entertainment Divas, Cabaret, Jazz Then And Now. It is an enormous book containing between two covers almost everything you need to know about Cabaret and Jazz, including a roster of the most successful singers and divas on an international scale. So far so good. But once you explore this huge book and start to read about the 'making' of a diva, more precisely the persona and aura of a Cabaret or Jazz singer, de Lafayette's frightening frankness and colorful criticism will throw you off your rocking chair. Nevertheless, you remain glued to his book because it is not an ordinary book written by a music historian or a critic who wants to elaborate on the nature and development of Jazz and cabaret but, simply because De Lafayette dared to tell you who is the best and who is the worst in the business. Probably you would not tolerate his pompous intellect but you will be astonished by his immense knowledge of the world of entertainment, Cabaret, Jazz and what makes a performer a super star or a legend. De Lafayette spent his entire life among and around stars since he was a child. Marlene Dietrich, Dalida, Jean Gabin, Simone Signoret, Yves Montand, Gabriella Ferri, Farid El Atrach, and legends of the 40s, 50s, and 60s were either familiar faces to the young Maximillien or friends of the family. He mingled with them and heard directly from them first-hand jokes, stories and confessions.
Photo:
Amanda McBroom.
But the book is not about gossips and confessions of legends and icons of a vanished glorious era. It rotates and evolves around divas, singers, starlets and ambitious artists you hear about or see today on Broadway and venues in Paris, Madrid and London. The juicy part of the subjects was squeezed into the Moolinex of de Lafayette and his 'critical grinder.' Some artists were elevated on pedestals. Others ridiculed and mocked. CDs were meticulously reviewed and artists' live performances in New York were carefully observed and critiqued. The man knows his craft but, his pen is sharp, not always friendly but, often accurate and honest. De Lafayette examined every imaginable genre and style of singers, Jazz performers and Cabaret chanteuses, including regional and international celebrities. Also, this trepid and captivating writer explored the hidden world of performing arts gossips behind the curtains, rise and fall of icons, heated conversations between stars sharing the same stage, and -not to miss- the quality and rating of singers and performers. It is obvious to the naked eye, De Lafayette is not impressed by the fame and financial success of a star. In his opinion, fame and fortune do not always translate into talent and artistic quality. Public relations and packaging have a lot to do with the success and ascension of an artist. Consequently, he does not refrain himself from throwing stones at fortunate performers who made it big in the world of showbiz despite their mediocre talent. De Lafayette despise them.
By the
same token, he gives helping hands to obscure performers who are still
facing rejection and struggling on a daily basis, if talent is what they
carry in their bag. In fact, he devoted several pages to unknown singers and
wrote glowing reviews about their acts, because he was fully convinced that
those artists need a wider recognition and a second chance. And I do find
this honorable. However, famous singers glitter on his menu. Singers like
Donna Byrne, Marlene Verplanck, Wesla Whitfield, Claire Martin, Judy Kaye,
Janis Mann, Carol Welsman, Laurie Krauz, Cynthia Basinet, Helen Baldassare,
Betty Buckley, Paulette Attie, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Caroline Nin (Lafayette
called Nin: The Ultimate Diva), Eartha Kitt, Toni Morrell, (Lafayette placed
Morell in the league of Petula Clark and Julie Andrews) Barb Jungr, Ute
Lemper, Patti Wicks, Dottie Burman (Lafayette wrote: Dottie Burman, the
maestra of witty lyrics and sophistication...), Linda Ciafolo (Lafayette
called Ciafalo the classiest star in the business) etc. Entertainment Divas
Cabaret Jazz Then And Now is a gigantic effort. It should prove to be
extremely helpful and essential to those who either make a living out of
performing or to lovers of Jazz and Cabaret. This book is formidable and
impressive. Add it to your library.

In his new book Entertainment Divas Cabaret Jazz Then And Now, Maximillien de Lafayette dissects every known and unknown genre and facet of Jazz and cabaret. He writes in depth about 13 different kinds of cabaret and 12 genres of Jazz. He walks an extra mile to describe the criteria of an authentic chanteuse, and what transmutes a singer into a shining star on world stage. In addition, and with meticulous observation and authoritative analysis, de Lafayette tells the story of entertainment from its beginning, and its early days to the 21st century. This most revealing and comprehensive work encompasses the whole universe of singers, on and off stage. Although, the author focuses on the historical development of Jazz and cabaret throughout the centuries, the most interesting and grasping part of the book is a chapter solely devoted to the character and psyche of female singers. Another provocative but highly entertaining part of the book begins on page 45 where de Lafayette furiously jokes about lack of authenticity and savoire faire of major American stars who desperately try to imitate Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel.

According to de Lafayette, the problem arises from the fact that American chanteuses who are very fond of Piaf and Brel do not bother at all to learn even basic French. And the results are catastrophic. The author wrote: "Please madam, learn how to pronounce "E" in French. "E" is pronounced "EU", not EH or EE!" He continues" if you are not a French-born singer, and you want to sing in French, please observe the following: 1-Perfect your French accent. Bad pronunciation of intimate and romantic French words will kill your cabaret act; 2-Avoid cliché and over-exposed, over-used, over-consumed French cabaret songs like "La Vie En Rose"; 3-Learn new French songs from the old Parisian repertoire, songs like "Tout Fout L'Camp", "La Guingette" by Damia; 4-Never wear boots and extremely high heels on stage, and so on...However, he admits that many American Cabaret Divas in New York and Los Angeles are as good as their French counterparts, if not better in some instances, especially when they improvise and take the liberty of adding a glitzy and sensual American touch to half-dead French songs.

Female singers and personalities of the world of American entertainment who are highly admired by de Lafayette and who were written-up in a glorious way are: Marlene Verplanck (her elegant photo appeared on the cover of the book), Janis Mann, Blossom Dearie, Paulette Attie, the stunning singer and actress Cynthia Basinet, the fabulous Toni Morrell, Linda Ciofalo, Maye Cavallaro, Lauren Field, Ayelet Rose Gottlieb, Karmyn Tyler (Former Miss Louisiana) Vixen, Laurie Krauz, Patti Wicks, Caroline Nin, Jamie deRoy, Wesla Whitfield, Raquel Biton, Donna Byrne, Amanda McBroom, to name a few.
The book is large, voluminous and full with tips, list of resources, almost 5,000 names, CDs reviews, personal histories, biographies, ratings and categories of artists ranging from the best to the worst. And for all those who love beauty...they will not be disappointed, because the huge book glitters with photos of breathtaking and gorgeous women, noticeably Hilary Kole, Quinn Lemley, Ana Held, Paulette Attie, Caroline Nin, Claire Martin, and the Vixen girls. And now the 36 million Dollar question. Who is the best singer in America? De Lafayette uses diplomacy. He does not say. But Marlene VerPlanck's name appears on the top of his list.

THE
WAR OF THE ROSES AND JAZZ DIVAS IN MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE'S NEW BOOK
"ENTERTAINMENT DIVAS CABARET JAZZ THEN AND NOW" IS THE BOOK OF THE YEAR!
By Shoshanna Rosenstein and David Blum, World Jewish News Agency.
Photos from L to R: Karmyn Tyler received a glowing review. Ayelet Rose Gottlieb just released a new CD "Mayim Rabim". Got her part of glory in Lafayette's book.
We had a ball reading Maximillien de Lafayette's most recent book Entertainment Divas Cabaret Jazz Then And Now. It was such a fun! On one hand, we were impressed by the wealth of information and analytical and social studies of the development and origin of music and live entertainment in America. And on the other hand, we were amused and joyfully entertained by the bizarre and most unusual stories, anecdotes and gossip about stars and starlets of the world of steamy cabaret and effervescent contempo Jazz. The saga of the book started with hustlers, dealers and wheelers of Burlesques, Can Can, shrewd and colorful impresarios of the early days of Cabaret in Montmartre, Paris, Vaudeville and Harlem, and ended with extravagant, fortunate, talented and not so-talented female singers in Manhattan. Lafayette told the whole story. Everything you wanted to know about the makeup and making of a diva and a jazz singer is displayed on wide shelves, right in your face in many chapters of the book.
And to add more fuel to the bursting fire of hot talks and gossip, Lafayette in a very crafty manner wrote about the secret world of the best and worst female singers in the United States. He approached the subject from different angles. He explained what makes a singer a classy performer, starting with her wardrobe, high heels, hairdo and finishing it off with her performance on stage and rapport with the audience. Lafayette did not stop there. He went on listing and "enlisting" names of jazz and cabaret performers and entertainers under different categories ranging from la crème de la crème to the over-rated and under-rated, the over-exposed to the talented obscure artists fighting for gigs and recognition.
Photo:
Marlene Verplanck dominated the book and appeared on the cover. Written up
as "the diva of all divas!"
The book is not mean. On the contrary, it is a sort of trampoline, a catapult if you wish, giving a helping hand and offering opportunities to talented singers who needed a break. Some articles are clearly pure propaganda, promoting de Lafayette's favorites, that is! But hold your horses, the author equally ridiculed tons of them.
In this country, we love gadgets, gizmos, novelties, numbers and lists. Lists of the best and the worst. List of the rich and the famous. List of the best shows in towns, List of the best dressed stars, you name it, the sky is the limit. We live in a country where credentials, name recognition and financial success dictate and define a status quo. Lafayette is no exception. He loves lists, he works hard on lists and he ends up making fun of those lists. Devious? Malicious? Court-jester? Or a man of substance and depth? Definitely, de Lafayette is on the side of artists. For years, he used his mighty and colorful pen to promote struggling artists in any way he could, whether by writing glowing reviews in his columns, interviewing them, or allowing them to perform in his establishments and cabaret floor-shows. He is not malicious at all. He is fun with a Voltaire and Bernard Shaw twist. In fact, he devoted chapters and chapters to singers who are totally unknown to us. He defended their causes and even published their photos in a place of honor. Having said this, let's see who is on his list of honors. The bad lists? We will not talk about this delicate matter because it is highly controversial. And Lafayette enjoys controversies. That is his trademark!

From
left to right, the delightful Dottie Burman, glitzy cabaret singer Quinn
Lemley were highly admired and written up in length in the book. Linda
Ciofalo, a major presence in the world of entertainment and jazz, Cynthia
Basinet who is making a big buzz and generating a wide interest among fans
and journalists. Lafayette described her as one of the most mesmerizing
stars in the business. Although, Basinet is relatively a newcomer to the
jazz scene. But if Lafayette says so, it must be so. Find out for
yourself.

From
left to right, Jamie deRoy, an American institution, Ann Hampton Callaway.
Donna Byrne written up as the ultimate entertainer, and Barbara Cook
occupies a place of honor in the book, described by the author and noted
critics in New York as "divinity."
More Celebrities?
You bet your gazebo! Jamie deRoy is there. Lafayette wrote "people like Ms. deRoy are an asset and a blessing to our troubled world." Deroy is on the list of la crème de la crème. Ann Campton Callaway is a question mark. Severely criticized by the author. He called her cold hearted woman, yet in the chapter The best of the best in the business, the author described her as "vocal magic in motion." Loretta Cormier is described as one of the most versatile singers. Joan Curto shines in the book. Andrea Marcovicci's agent is ridiculed. Judy Roberts is highly viewed by the author. Barbara Sfagra is in good shape in the book. Lotte Trouble got a glowing write-up. Maye Cavallaro is described as the "essence of sophistication."

From
left to right, Debbie Gravitte, Nancy Kelly.
Three legendary performers, Barbara Cook, award-winning singer Debbie Gravitte and Nancy Kelly were on the list of the "Fabulous Ones!"
THE GLORIOUS STARS AND SINGERS ACCORDING TO MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.
Marian McPartland.
There is an extensive chapter in the book starting on page 597 and ending on page 694 that contained CDs and performances reviews, biographies and press quotes about at least 500 singers, musicians, composers and entertainers of all sorts. The chapter is well-written and presented into an alphabetical order. Among the honorees are Dee Dee Bridgewater, Barbara Cook, Debbie Gravitte, Anath, Ayelet Rose Gottlieb, Paulette Attie (poet, writer, songwriter, singer, diva and award-winning columnist, the whole nine yards), former Miss Louisiana, Karmyn Tyler (A newcomer to the jazz scene, described by the author as the newest great jazz sensation), the highly publicized and equally controversial and talented actress, singer and activist Cynthia Basinet, Dottie Burman a well known satirist, teacher and cabaret performer in Manhattan, Marlene Verplanck, acknowledged by media, critics and fans as the sublime smooth jazz and American standards diva, Quinn Lemley, a ravishing and striking cabaret and jazz "new" star in the genre of Rita Hayworth.
Marian McPartland was called by the author "The dean of the world of jazz." Donna Byrne (written up extensively in many chapters of the book. Lafayette seems to adore this diva!), Barbara Levy Daniels recognized by de Lafayette as one of the finest jazz singers of our time, Laurie Krauz (called by de Lafayette "La crème de la crème), Jamie deRoy described by de Lafayette as a living legend and "an asset and a blessing to our troubled world, Ondine Darcyl made the list of the best singers in the United States, and Canadian knockout pianist and singer Carol Welsman (who made the cover of UNITED STATES AND THE WORLD FACE TO FACE, another enormous book written by Maximillien de Lafayette, and recently published in the United States), is presented as "a national treasure."
A HELPING HAND AND NO-STRINGS ATTACHED PROPAGANDA.
Lafayette told the Agency: "A world without music, cabaret and jazz is an immense valley without roses and green trees. A world without talented singers and divas is a sad world, a stagnant pond, a painting without colors and warmth." He adds: "One of the objectives of the book and perhaps of my life as well is to recognize others' talents and unconditionally helping those magnificent and talented artists who remain totally obscure and unknown to the public for various reasons. I find so much pleasure and satisfaction in promoting those superb artists who need a second chance or a break in their career, this is why I wrote extensively about singers you never heard of...I did it because I believe in them and most certainly because they deserve more exposure and a wider recognition. Fantastic singers like Lori Derr, Eleonor England, Candace Evans, Barbie Anaka, Debbie Duncan, Robin Aleman, Madelaine Ostlund, Lisa Clark..."
The book is delightful, crafty, comprehensive, fun, and full of good news. Get a copy. Available nationwide and online. Check it out at barnesandnoble.com and other booksellers.

ENTERTAINMENT: DIVAS CABARET JAZZ THEN A NOW. Or The Best and Worst Singers and Stars in the Business! PROVOCATIVE BUT WELL DOCUMENTED.
By Genevieve Bresson.
Photo:
Janis Mann, one of the best singers in the business.
Rush to your bookstore and grab a copy of this book. If you are a singer or a performing artist, Entertainment Divas, Cabaret, Jazz Then and Now is the book you must sink your teeth in. It is explosive because it depicts the character of well-known singers who hide behind the mic and the image created by their publicists. In a way, the author exposes what he likes and dislikes most about them. Informative, because it provides wealth of information on showbiz, its ups and downs, career struggling, auditions, the dos and don'ts in entertainment and all those resources you need to know about to launch your career. It is also academic and imposing, because it retraces the history and roots of world entertainment from its dawn to the present. Did I mention how funny and entertaining this book is? It is hilarious! Fun, fun! Maximillien de Lafayette, author of the book is known for his expertise in this field. But what caught my interest is not exclusively the overwhelming information and in-depth articles de Lafayette fed his book with but his outrageous approach in criticizing American singers who imitate French cabaret chanteuses. For instance, he writes about how famous cabaret singers in New York mispronounced French words and murder French songs with their 'unattractive French accent' or how they position themselves on stage and lean against a baby grand , thus ridiculously imitating great French cabaret chanteuses of the early era of Paris and Berlin cabaret.
But the book is also constructive and uplifting, because de Lafayette gave a wide exposure to talented singers who needed a break. Side by side, you will read about the most famous singers in the business and obscure but gifted artists. The interviews with the stars are fascinating, sometime, a bright light is shed on the career of the artist, and in some passages, in a satiric manner, de Lafayette ridiculed tons of them. By all means, Entertainment Divas Cabaret Jazz Then and Now is an explosive, powerful and informative piece of work. Worthy mentioning is the listing and rating of singers, as well as stories and gossips about mega stars who were portrayed in this book in a very unorthodox way. De Lafayette, apparently, knew them very well. Marlene Verplanck, a highly admired and respected singer in the United States is the darling of this massive book. She is written up in many chapters, and her new CD 'My Impetuous Heart' was selected by de Lafayette as the best Jazz CD of the year. Glowing reviews were given to Cynthia Basinet, Ellen Johnson, Laurie Krauz, Paulette Attie, Linda Ciofalo and Dottie Burman, among others. Donna Byrne, Patti Wicks and Janis Mann were described as mega divas. Andrea Marcovicci and Anne Holloway Campton were harshly critiqued and ridiculed. The book is intriguing like his author, but extremely amusing, informative with style and authority. It is obvious, the book will delight many. It is equally true, the book will infuriate zillions of stars and singers. That is the trade mark of Maximillien de Lafayette's provocative books. In conclusion, read it. It is an intelligent, well-written and richly documented work. I look upon this book as one of the most important published volumes on showbiz, Jazz, cabaret and contemporary entertainment. The book was just published and it is available in the United States and abroad. Check it out at barnesandnoble.

THE
BEST BOOK ON CABARET AND JAZZ EVER PUBLISHED.
By Valerie Constand, The London Monthly Herald./Times Herald. London.
Photo: Marlene Dietrich.
A most unusual book, for it has it all: Roots and history of American music as originated in the cotton fields of colonial America to what is going on today on stage in New York, Paris and London, the best and worst female cabaret and Jazz singers, la crème de la crème of musicians and hottest gossip in town. You will never put this book down. It is exciting, funny, refreshing and yet authoritative. The author is an authority in the field. He wrote on entertainment for twenty years and interviewed mega stars around the world, starting with Omar Sharif, Simone Signoret, Marlene Deitrich and ending with Amanda McBroom, Marlene VerPlanck, Sarita Montiel and Celia Cruz. This is an enormous book of 722 pages packed with information, stories, CDs reviews, rating of singers and chanteuses, gossip, tips to chanteuses and singers on how to become a Cabaret Star, how to dress up, how to become famous, and above all what to do and what to avoid on stage. In that context, Entertainment Divas, Cabaret, Jazz Then and Now becomes an essential and indispensable reference material and companion to divas and starlets alike.
You will learn a lot from reading this book. You may not agree with de Lafayette's frank, candid and sometimes arrogant viewpoints, but most certainly you will enjoy reading each page of the book. There is no question, this is the best and most authoritative book on Jazz and Cabaret ever published. The photo on the cover generated hot debates and steamy gossip. American first lady of Smooth Jazz, Marlene Verplanck graced the cover of this huge book. Some peers were delighted to see Verplanck on the cover, others got furious, let's say in plain English 'Jealous'. De Lafayette told Stars Illustrated: 'Ms. Verplanck was my first choice, because she is the best of the best in the business. She has superb stage presence, the technique, experience, repertoire, know-how, magnificent voice and authentic Jazz and American Standards repertoire. For God sake what else do you need to be a super diva, and what else do you require from a singer to take the lead? She is perfect for the cover. Marlene Verplanck fits the bill.' Anyway, anyhow, read the book, get a copy, you will enjoy every chapter of it. This is the best book of the season....on Jazz and Cabaret, of course.

ENTERTAINMENT:
DIVAS, CABARET, JAZZ THEN AND NOW. A triumph! Absolutely fascinating.By Trevor Marlins, Book Reviewer, The International Herald Daily News, Paris, London.
Photo: Gloria Loring.
Out of the over one hundred books Mr. de Lafayette had written, “ENTERTAINMENT: DIVAS, CABARET, JAZZ THEN AND NOW” is my favourite. There has never been such a book. Many books exist about classical music and rock’n’roll, but Jazz and Cabaret? Never! The first of its kind! In this book you will find stories about the greatest American and International divas that you have never heard about before. Starting with the likes of Mata Hari and Mistinguett, Ana Held, Fay Templeton, and others of the golden era, to such living legends as Gloria Loring, Amanda McBroom and Diva Marlene VerPlanck whose picture graces the cover of this mammoth book – over seven hundred pages and weighs a ton – to new and emerging talents of the young and ambitious who will carry the torch of Jazz and Cabaret as it should be carried into the future. You cannot put the book down. Stories of gigolos, hustlers, shady characters of the night, greedy booking agents, struggling artists, gossip and altercations between great stars – it is so amusing, entertaining and satisfying, you will go on reading for a long time. And The pictures speak for themselves.
The book is beautifully illustrated, so well that you feel you know the characters personally. But don’t think it is a frivolous book. Serious history of music, from the Colonial era and the cotton fields of America, to the last gig of a star in Manhattan, all this material is written in depth and encyclopedic wealth of knowledge. One of the most unusual characteristics of this book are the interviews. The author interviewed zillions of mega stars and asked them the same questions, intentionally, as if each one was the only interviewee. Published in the book, the reader will understand the differences in character and persona, and the way of life of all those stars, because each answered the questions differently. To summarize, this is a not-to-miss book. It should be in the home of everyone who is interested in music, both professionals and those who simply love Jazz and Cabaret and want to immerse themselves in the lore and history of the genre. It will also teach you what make a diva tick! Buy it!
