Amanda McBroom has
been called “…the greatest cabaret performer of her generation, an urban poet
who writes like an angel and has a voice to match.” And WACJ calls her “The
Immortal Living Legend And The Greatest Songwriter/Singer Of All Time”.
Today, Amanda McBroom is the
greatest songwriter/singer/entertainer in America. She does not need more
awards and additional recognition (s). She has more than enough, enough for
centuries to come. Nevertheless, the readers and the editorial staff of World
Art Celebrities Journal had to reveal their admiration and ultimate respect
for this Super Diva; Amanda McBroom, the best of the best, the living immortal
legend! So, what they did was very a propos. They elected her as the

P.79-80.
WORLD-CLASS TALENTS: SOFIA LAITI.
ysterious American chanteuse Sofia Laiti is making
a big buzz with her recently released CD YOU DON'T KNOW ME, her debut
recording of European and American cabaret repertoire. I just said Cabaret
Debut, not a singer career debut, because she has already 3 CDs to her
credit. She has been classically trained, but for some reasons, she decided
to become a jazz singer. A short biography by Alex Henserson in All Music
Guide sheds a light on the background of this singer...

THEATRE./DRAMA:
Adrian Hodges has written
some of most successful dramas. He's no stranger to big budget
adaptations of classics, having written the spectacular dinosaur drama, Yhe
Lost World. Adrian has turned his hand to the works of RD Blackmore with
Lorna Doone and wrote the recent version of Charles Dickens' David
Copperfield (which was produced by Kate Harwood , with Costume Design by
Mike O'Neill, both of whom worked on Charles).
148. OPERA: An opera inspired by the 1995 massacre of Muslims by Bosnian Serbs at Srebrenica is due to open in Sarajevo. Almost 8,000 men and boys were executed in Srebrenica, which was a UN-declared safe zone at the time. The Bosnian National Opera will perform the opera - called Srebrenicanke (Srebrenica women) - for the first time.
149.
MUSEUMS/GALLERIES:
A lighting
technician’s dream at London’s Albion Gallery. Walking into the
Albion Gallery, part of a new Norman Foster complex, is a little like being in
an architect’s model. Identical lined-up trees and vast empty spaces create an
air of anonymity. Turrell’s clean and apparently emotionless work, though, is
exactly the type of art that an architect might approve of inhabiting such a
model..
150.THE ESSENTIALS: THE BEST CABARET MUSIC AND SONGS CDs: The ESSENTIALS are those CDs or recordings which are looked upon as major, important and most significant for the genre per se. Cabaret is my forte. Cabaret music is my favorite topic. And I will writing about it, and about the best cabaret CDs of recent years; CDs of American Cabaret singers and songwriters. Unquestionably, the greatest non Parisian, non ethnically French Cabaret singer in the world and outside France is RAQUEL BITTON who currently lives in California...
152.POP NEW RELEASES & REVIEWS: Bjork has said she finds her best, most loved music has been the songs she was selfish in making. On her latest, the Icelandic chanteuse has cast out even the instruments. Bjork's seventh album, Medulla, which refers to the spinal cord in Latin, gets to the heart of the marrow, so to speak...IBob Marley is reggae's king, Jimmy Cliff is its prince. The veteran Jamaican singer has the royal lineage. He started his career in the early '60s ska scene in Kingston while still a teenager and has grown along with the music through its many permutations...And much more...
153. ENTERTAINMENT: It was nearly a lifetime ago that Brooke Shields shocked the world as a knowing child prostitute in the film Pretty Baby and told us that nothing came between her and her Calvins. As that rare creature who navigated her way from child stardom to a successful adult career, Shields looks back on it all as a fun time, a great opportunity...Red carpets and banners festooned a soggy Leicester Square on Wednesday for the opening night of the 48th annual London Film Festival, which has a slate as diverse as the teeming capital city that hosts it. Between Mike Leigh's working-class tragedy Vera Drake, which opens the festival, and the closing film, David O. Russell's existential comedy I (Heart) Huckabees on Nov. 4, 180 features and 103 shorts from 60 countries will be screened.
154. AMERICA'S BEST ARTISTS OF THE YEAR
155.
CABARET: MEET THE QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN'S CABARET. BARB JUNGR.
Diva Barb Jungr is a living legend. She is larger than life on stage. She is witty, captivating, warm and boiling with musical lava and unsurpassed vocal virtuosity. An English woman who sings like real, real, real Parisian cabaret singers? Like Piaf, for instance? Not really. Perhaps much better, because he is happier than those stuffy melodramatic French singers who complicate your life. French cabaret is intense because it is drama. Jungr's cabaret is happy, vivacious, filled with joy and hope. They compared her to Ute Lemper, Juliette Greco and Edith Piaf.

WORLD OF CABARET: AMERICAN MUSIC AND THE BIRTH OF CABARET

FROM
THE EARLY JAZZ ERA TO PRESENT.
Artists,
performers, entertainers, musicians, composers and singers of yesteryears and
at the dawn of American music were so different from those who came to the
scene of the modern American music of the 20th and 21st
centuries. The music was real musical composition, no Rap crap and heavy metal
distorting noises. The lyrics were simple, evocative, poetic and polite and
consequently, songs could be sung by all generations and audiences of all
ages. The musical productions were either super extravaganzas or daringly
intimate and sentimental.

214. HEADLINES AND HOTTEST GOSSIPS OF THE YEAR: This is what we have heard this year.
228.
INTERNATIONAL ARTIST OF THE MONTH:
SOPHIA DALLE: A new refreshing breeze of unusual artistic genre.
Most recently, the London Monthly Herald published a striking piece on Sophia
Dalle. A relatively newcomer to the cabaret scene in New York City. But this
American singer brings with her wealth of talents, originality and mystifying
artistic personality. She is not your common cabaret singer. She is unusual in
her stage appearance, her dialogue, her lyrics, most certainly her looks and
the message she conveys on and off stage. On one hand, she could remind you of
Gloria Swanson, the divas of the black and white movies. And on the other
hand, she projects you onto a futuristic world of music and the sphere of a
passionate and sensual cabaret of tomorrow.

229.
FABULOUS TIMES, PLACES AND PEOPLE:
PARIS IN THE 20s and 30s: Background, People, Places, Personalities,
Pleasure, Style, Fashion, Arts, Poetry, Music and Adventure.
Mon Dieu! To be and live in Paris during
"Les annees folles", between the end of 1917 and 1934, especially if you
were an eccentric artist, an intellectual adventurer, a frou-frou femme
fatale, a genius or an independently wealthy American, willing to spend a
lot of money on arts, dating and women. Ask Madonna, Leah Furman,
Penelope de Vassy and Louise de Chambertin. Really "real"
America's la crème de la crème was there. The "real" American high society,
the privileged class, the snobs (Although it was too early for the Americans
to know how to be a snob), les bourgeois, wealth filthy characters, the
hustlers with a style, the scandalous adventurous women, the schmoozers and
the cruisers, the handsome gigolos, the champagne, the caviar, the kisses
and the misses, sex, the drama and all the "chic" pleasures of the era.
246.
TÊTE-À-TÊTE WITH DIVA AND WRITER EXTRAORDINAIRE, LEAH FURMAN.
Exclusive Interview With America's #1 Dating Expert.
She is stunning, young, famous,
vibrant, self-assured, overwhelmingly intelligent, bright, bright, bright,
jolie et chic, highly educated, authored more than 25 books with many
bestsellers. She knows a lot about life, "camelionized" people, women, men and
those who are between. She wrote books on life, business, entrepreneurial
successes, celebrities, superstars, musicians, money, etiquette, legends,
religion, society, love, sex, dating, etiquette and refined manners.
254.
THE CILICIAN STYLE:
FROM ITS
GLORIOUS DAYS, ITS ORIGIN, ITS RISE, ITS GLORY TO ITS FALL AND DEATH ON THE
HAND OF THE MAMLUKS.
The
second style of the early Armenian manuscripts painting is the Cilician
style. A very beautiful, colorful, rich, vibrant, humanistic and detailed
brighter and happier art. Tens of thousands of illuminated manuscripts were
produced in the times of medieval Armenia. Unfortunately many perished.

261.
ART HISTORY AND GENOCIDE:
To fully understand the
essence and spirit of Armenian art in the homeland and Diaspora, a brief
glance at the history of Diaspora in the last hundred year (1895-1994) is
necessary. At the end of the 18th century and at the beginning of the 19th
century the political and geographical role of the Russian Empire becomes more
dominant and active in the internal affairs of Armenia. Russia won the
1804-1013 war against the Persian empire. Consequently, Russia gained many
territories, and new lands, including the Caucasus, Gandzak khanates and
Karabagh.

270.WORLD CABARET: NEW YORK CITY- Her October cabaret show at Joe's Pub in New York City was a smashing success. Barb Jungr took New York and the audience by storm. Listening to her albums is a delight. But, seeing her performing on stage is the ultimate musical treat and an experience at many levels, not to miss. From her very first song to Waterloo Sunset, her international hit, Barb Jungr shined brighter than midnight sunset, enrobed with a femme fatale aura, a sensual intellectualism and the implosion of a dignified femme fatale. Her show was a sort of a tribute to Bob Dylan. She sang his biggest hits, her style and her way and she excelled. But, when she delivered Jacques Brel's "Ay Marieke, Marieke", the audience went wild. She mesmerized the hell out of them.
