THE MEGA DOLLAR WOMEN. THE MOST EXPENSIVE STARS IN HOLLYWOOD.
What so special about these women? Are
they the most intelligent and captivating human beings in the world? NO! Have
they contributed the most essential and the most needed help, knowledge and
wisdom to the society and world of excellence, humanities and human science?
t17.FILM.
Woman's erotic presence as a pivotal
necessity in art films and documentaries. A secret stash of naughty silent
films turned up in a Paris attic, and producer Michel Reilhac knew he had to
put them on the big screen.
Our great-grandparents were rather less prudish
than we might imagine. Decades before pornography became big business, naughty
French people were making dirty films for the fun of it. In The Good Old
Naughty Days, a collection of 12 silent films from the earliest years of the
20th century, nuns, priests, teachers - even a dog - play out sexual dramas in
a wide variety of inventive positions, locations and logistical
arrangements...

MOST ELEGANT, THE BEST AND THE WORST DRESSED STARS IN AMERICA.
"You have one minute to impress, 30 seconds to catch the moment and just 3
seconds to make a lasting impression." Once, wrote Maximillien de Lafayette in
his book on world protocol and etiquette. And how you can you impress by
catching the moment in less than 3 seconds without saying a word? Simple:
Dress to kill. Dress for Success! Be Elegant and Refined. Elegance is the
key. Remember, nowadays stars don't create fashion anymore as did the femmes
fatales of the golden era of Hollywood, thanks to Valentino..

CINEMA. A movie which depicts Nazi
dictator Adolf Hitler's softer side has topped the German box office.
The Downfall attracted 480,000 viewers in its opening weekend, distributor
Constantin Film said on Monday. The film shows Hitler's humanity as well as
his diabolical nature, as it depicts the final 12 days of his life.
The DVDs of the original Star Wars trilogy have broken a UK sales
record after one day of release. Internet retailer
Amazon received more than 85,000 pre-orders for The Star Wars Trilogy, beating
the 50,000 high of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

MUSEUMS/GALLERIES:
A
lighting technician’s dream at London’s Albion Gallery. Walking into
the Albion Gallery, part of a new Norman Foster complex, is a little like
being in an architect’s model. Identical lined-up trees and vast empty spaces
create an air of anonymity. Turrell’s clean and apparently emotionless work,
though, is exactly the type of art that an architect might approve of
inhabiting such a model..

From Delacroix to Matisse: Drawings from the Algiers Museum of Art.
The Algiers Museum of
Fine Arts houses a collection of 8,000 works, dating from the 14th to the
20th century, including a Print Department with nearly 1,750 drawings and
engravings. A selection of around 60 French drawings, from the 19th and early
20th centuries, will give the public an idea of the wealth and diversity of
this collection that is little-known in France. On the one hand, the
exhibition will present works by “Orientalist” artists such as Chassériau,
Decamps...

MODERN ART IN IRAQ: BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. LEADING FIGURES AND
INTERNATIONAL PERSONALITIES:
No country will ever survive if its art dies. it
the proper time to talk about Iraqi modern art amidst the turbulent Iraq
passage toward new political and social metamorphoses? Absolutely, for
nations were initially born through the original expressions of individual and
shared feelings, ideas, concepts and ideologies transmitted and illustrated
through the medium of art. Equally true is the survival of nations and the
preservation of their heritage, history and national pride through art in all
its forms and styles.

JAZZ CORNER:
It seems everybody wants to be a jazz singer
nowadays. People of all ages turn up at 'open mic' sessions to perform their
party piece. But why this sudden eruption of would-be vocalists? Maybe because
singing looks easier than playing an instrument, although it isn't. Or maybe
it's because there are so many good jazz singers in Britain to inspire them.
There's Stacey Kent, Tina May, Claire Martin, Clare Teal, Barb Jungr, Anita
Wardell, Sheena Davis, Cathie Rae and plenty more. Until recently, the guys
had fewer role-models, but then along came Jamie Cullum whose career received
a mighty boost when he was signed by Universal.

GREAT TALENTS: DIVAS IN THE MAKING.
It is not an easy task to write about
Sophia Dalle, nor to engage into a dialogue with this macabre and translucent
Diva in the making. She lives in a world we are familiar with, and in a cosmos
where only most daring thoughts, phantasmagoric visions and idealism blend and
fade in. She is idealistic, a spiritual chic and abundant with
multidimensional musical talent. She interrupts you all the time, she rushes
to freeze and free words of wisdom, you wish you could totally understand, and
she challenges your intellect, even though, she disdains ivy league cum laude
graduates who analyze everything in life.

Bjork has said she finds her best, most loved music has been the songs she was
selfish in making. On her latest, the Icelandic chanteuse has cast out even
the instruments. Bjork's seventh album, Medulla, which refers to the spinal
cord in Latin, gets to the heart of the marrow, so to speak...IBob Marley is
reggae's king, Jimmy Cliff is its prince. The veteran Jamaican singer has the
royal lineage. He started his career in the early '60s ska scene in Kingston
while still a teenager and has grown along with the music through its many
permutations...And much more...
