GREAT TALENTS: DIVAS IN THE MAKING.
It
is not an easy task to write about Sophia Dalle, nor to engage into a dialogue
with this macabre and translucent Diva in the making. She lives in a world we
are familiar with, and in a cosmos where only most daring thoughts,
phantasmagoric visions and idealism blend and fade in. She is idealistic, a
spiritual chic and abundant with multidimensional musical talent. She
interrupts you all the time, she rushes to freeze and free words of wisdom,
you wish you could totally understand, and she challenges your intellect, even
though, she disdains ivy league cum laude graduates who analyze everything in
life.

INTERNATIONAL ARTIST
OF THE MONTH: SOPHIA DALLE: A new refreshing breeze of unusual artistic
genre. Most recently, the London Monthly
Herald published a striking piece on Sophia Dalle. A relatively newcomer to
the cabaret scene in New York City. But this American singer brings with her
wealth of talents, originality and mystifying artistic personality. She is not
your common cabaret singer. She is unusual in her stage appearance, her
dialogue, her lyrics, most certainly her looks and the message she conveys on
and off stage. On one hand, she could remind you of Gloria Swanson, the divas
of the black and white movies. And on the other hand, she projects you onto a
futuristic world of music and the sphere of a passionate and sensual cabaret
of tomorrow.
UNUSUAL WOMEN
t1.WOMAN
ARTIST OF THE MONTH:
THE MAGICAL UNIVERSE OF HEATHER CORINA.
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.
Meet Heather Corina, one of the world's greatest photographers. She creates a
cosmos of one million dimensions and parallel rainbows for those who in their
daring thoughts and intimate theology, search for the beauty of our world,
bodies, sensuality and the tabooed esthetics. A genius, a visionary and simply
a woman who dares to be an Eve. Corina or the femme fatale of world
photography.
1.The
world's richest women: The Billionaires.
Marilyn
Carlson. She runs one of the biggest privately held companies in America,
Carlson Companies, which she took over as chairman and chief executive when
her father, founder Curt Carlson died in 1999. Marilyn, 61, and her sister
Barbara Carlson Gage each own half of the $31 billion (2000 sales) company. As
a marketing, travel and hospitality company, Carlson has been hit by the
economic downturn and Sept. 11 terror attacks...

Hottest faces and bodies. The
new list of women who made it big time this year. The new list of the most
attractive and hottest faces includes a puzzling variety of stars,
celebrities, media personalities, as well as female authors with impressive
academic credentials, ranging from super model Nikki Visser to Dr. Monica
Crowley, the most brilliant and prettiest face of the American media.
Beauty and brains are blending in unison.
Although, they have different personalities and colorful tempers, almost all
of them make millions in so many different ways and means.
1.
Renate Aller: BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.
She photographs
femme fatales, elegant women, the clouds, inexistent people who make you
think, and the infinity of nothingness. You see it in her shots of lyrical and
nostalgic skies, horizons, clouds, seascapes and ultra modern installations.
t9.WOMEN GENIUSES OF
DANCE AND BALLET. BY MAXIMILLIEN
DE LAFAYETTE. The
Magical and Surreal World of Theatrical Dance and Ballet...The religions of
ancient Greece and Rome are extinct now, but the gods and goddesses of Olympus
are still vibrant in our dreams and fragile hopes. The sublime deities came to
life through poetry, music and dance. They belonged to literature, fantasy,
art and dance. In the firmament of human imagination, they defined their
divine circle, and continued to hold it within the winds...

t20.WOMEN
GENIUSES.
Mary Phelps Jacob,
Inventor of the Bra Design.
In
1913, the first modern brassiere to be awarded a patented was invented by a
New York socialite named Mary Phelps Jacob. Mary had just purchased a sheer
evening gown for one of her social events. At that time, the accepted
undergarments were corsets, stiffened with whaleback bones and steel rods.
Mary found that the "whalebone-spocked" out visibly around the plunging
neckline and under the sheer fabric, so with two silk hankerchiefs and some
pink ribbon, the first bra was invented.

Women of power and
talent. Are these women perfect, loveable or simply tough-cookies?
Hottest and
Most Talented Women of the Year. (THE 66 MILLION DOLLAR WOMEN). Talent,
fame and not much education, class or enlightenment would suffice to make you
a millionaire actress. Some times, talent has nothing to do with how much an
actress deserves, should earn or profit from the box office. Luck is
primordial. Big names bring money to Hollywood and that’s...

3.AMERICAN LEGENDS
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. GRANDE DAME PAULETTE
ATTIE: LA CRÈME DE LA CRÈME.
SHOWBIZ STAR OF THE YEAR, by MAXIMILLIEN de LAFAYETTE. To call Ms. Attie
"Divine" or "Sensational" is a childish approach to understand, feel,
sense, explore and admire the beautifully intelligent and warmly
captivating multidimensional art and multifaceted universe of her
creativity. P.20-

WOMAN OF THE YEAR:
Monica Crowley. BY MAXIMILLIEN DE
LAFAYETTE.
They
called her so many things and gave her so many "appellations" like an
old Petrus or a Napoleon Cognac. The list goes on ad infinitum. Some
observers see in Monica Crowley "The hottest babe of the Republican
Party". Others dignified her with a tricolor stigma "The First Consul of
the Triumvir", for three ladies, quite often make the big buzz in
Washington and New York: Coulter, Ingraham and Crowley. The Three
Republican Graces. But Crowley shines brighter, smarter and prettier
than all of them.
CABARET DRAMA.
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.
THE RISE AND FALL OF "LA
GOULUE". THE FIRST QUEEN OF PARISIAN BURLESQUE CABARET: ENCHANTMENT AND
HUMAN DRAMA OF THE WORLD OF CABARET.
Her fall was as dramatic and spectacular
as her rise and fame. She earned a fortune but spent it on friends, the
needy, the poor, the homeless, the gigolos and scary business
investments, including a partnership in an animal-taming act. The once
upon a time, famous and wealthy "artiste" became homeless, and old
before her time. She was a striper with a heart larger than life but her
generosity did not save her from poverty. In 1925 she was found
toothless and white-haired in Neuilly-sur-Marne. She returned to
Montmartre in 1928 to sell peanuts, cigarettes, roses, cheap dried
fruits and matches on the miserable streets of the poor districts of
Paris and sometimes near the Moulin Rouge. Yes, she was the toast of
Paris. While selling cigarettes in the streets, nobody recognized "La
Reine Du Cabaret", the former queen of the Parisian Cabaret and
entertainment. She died in 1929 without a name...she had hard time
convincing the priest who gave her the last holy sacrament that she was
indeed "La Goulue." This is her story and the tale of the early days of
Montmatre cabaret and Parisian Can Can...

MARJORIE MAYE:
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.
Maye wrote and composed some of the world’s best
lyrics and music for artists ranging from Celine Dion to SClub7. Her
Nikki Webster’s single “Strawberry Kisses” slammed into the Australian
charts at Number 2, was declared gold in a week, then declared platinum
not long after.
Marjorie Maye is a very expensive enigma. A puzzling and complex
delightful “Femme Fatale”. She looks stunning, she flirts with “La Forza
del Destino”, she mocks the absurdity of intellectualism, she spreads
beauty and passion around her, and her “scent” dissolves you in a mirage
of sensuality and daring thoughts…and she loves dessert and mint
chocolate chip ice cream...
SOCIETY AND LIFESTYLE: Hottest
and Most Talented Women of the Year.
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. We will always talk about the famous and the rich. Wealth and money are
status symbol. When you have money, people think that you know. When you
lose your assets, social power and position, you become yesterday’s
news. You might get lucky and be remembered here and there, but you are
no more a headliner. You become like Australia. Everybody talks about
Australia but nobody wants to visit Australia.

MODERN ART IN IRAQ:
BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. LEADING FIGURES AND INTERNATIONAL
PERSONALITIES:
No country will ever survive if
its art dies. it the proper time to talk about Iraqi modern art
amidst the turbulent Iraq passage toward new political and social
metamorphoses? Absolutely, for nations were initially born through
the original expressions of individual and shared feelings, ideas,
concepts and ideologies transmitted and illustrated through the
medium of art. Equally true is the survival of nations and the
preservation of their heritage, history and national pride through
art in all its forms and styles.
