t11.UNDISCOVERED GREAT TALENTS: DIVAS IN THE MAKING. It is not an easy task to write about Sophia Dalle, nor to engage into a dialogue with this macabre and translucent Diva in the making. She lives in a world we are familiar with, and in a cosmos where only most daring thoughts, phantasmagoric visions and idealism blend and fade in. She is idealistic, a spiritual chic and abundant with multidimensional musical talent. She interrupts you all the time, she rushes to freeze and free words of wisdom, you wish you could totally understand, and she challenges your intellect, even though, she disdains ivy league cum laude graduates who analyze everything in life. 155. CABARET: MEET THE QUEEN OF GREAT BRITAIN'S CABARET. BARB JUNGR.Barb Jungr BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE

Diva Barb Jungr is a living legend. She is larger than life on stage. She is witty, captivating, warm and boiling with musical lava and unsurpassed vocal virtuosity. An English woman who sings like real, real, real Parisian cabaret singers? Like Piaf, for instance? Not really. Perhaps much better, because he is happier than those stuffy melodramatic French singers who complicate your life. French cabaret is intense because it is drama. Jungr's cabaret is happy, vivacious, filled with joy and hope. They compared her to Ute Lemper, Juliette Greco and Edith Piaf. .ART & STYLE MAGAZINE..

170-200. WORLD OF CABARET: AMERICAN MUSIC AND THE BIRTH OF CABARET FROM THE EARLY JAZZ ERA TO PRESENT. BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.

Artists, performers, entertainers, musicians, composers and singers of yesteryears and at the dawn of American music were so different from those who came to the scene of  the modern American music of the  20th and 21st centuries. The music was real musical composition, no Rap crap and heavy metal distorting noises. The lyrics were simple, evocative, poetic and polite and consequently, songs could be sung by all generations and audiences of all ages. The musical productions were either super extravaganzas or daringly intimate and sentimental. ART & STYLE MAGAZINE..

270.WORLD CABARET:  BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. NEW YORK CITY- Her  October cabaret show at Joe's Pub in New York City was a smashing success. Barb Jungr took New York and the audience by storm. Listening to her albums is a delight. But, seeing her performing on stage is the ultimate musical treat and an experience at many levels, not to miss. From her very first song to Waterloo Sunset, her international hit, Barb Jungr shined brighter than midnight sunset, enrobed with a femme fatale aura, a sensual intellectualism and the implosion of a dignified femme fatale. Her show was a sort of a tribute to Bob Dylan. She sang his biggest hits, her style and her way and she excelled. But, when she delivered Jacques Brel's "Ay Marieke, Marieke", the audience went wild. She mesmerized the hell out of them. ART & STYLE MAGAZINE..

CABARET DRAMA. THE RISE AND FALL OF "LA GOULUE". THE FIRST QUEEN OF PARISIAN BURLESQUE CABARET: ENCHANTMENT AND HUMAN DRAMA OF THE WORLD OF CABARET, by MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. Her fall was as dramatic and spectacular as her rise and fame. She earned a fortune but spent it on friends, the needy, the poor, the homeless, the gigolos and scary business investments, including a partnership in an animal-taming act. The once upon a time,  famous and wealthy "artiste" became homeless, and old before her time. She was a striper with a heart larger than life but her generosity did not save her from poverty. In 1925 she was found toothless and white-haired in Neuilly-sur-Marne. She returned to Montmartre in 1928 to sell peanuts, cigarettes, roses, cheap dried fruits and matches on the miserable streets of the poor districts of Paris and sometimes near the Moulin Rouge. Yes, she was the toast of Paris. While selling cigarettes in the streets, nobody recognized "La Reine Du Cabaret",  the former queen of the Parisian Cabaret and entertainment. She died in 1929 without a name...she had hard time convincing the priest  who gave her the last holy sacrament that she was indeed "La Goulue." This is her story and the tale of the early days of Montmatre cabaret and Parisian Can Can... P.209 -222 STARS ILLUSTRATED

HISTORY OF THE FRENCH CABARET AND ENTERTAINMENT BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE.

HISTORY OF MUSIC, ENTERTAINMENT, SHOWBIZ AND CABARET IN FRANCE FROM THE 17th CENTURY TO PRESENT. BY MAXIMILLIEN DE LAFAYETTE. This is the true history of Cabaret and how it came to existence. Our story will bring so many memories and passages of history forgotten in the dark alleys of life and on the dusty shelves of our mind. Some names and places are familiar, while others are obscure and unknown for obvious reasons. More precisely, because many of those places disappeared long time ago from the old Parisian landscape. Some were ravished by the hardship of time, others demolished to give place and definition to modern edifices, offices buildings, parking lots, and in some instances to be replaced by modern Cabarets,  facilities and locals. As to people’s names, some were forgotten because, they shined for a while and vanished for reasons we know and reasons we ignore. Once upon a time, their music and words entertained many sad souls and adventurers who found comfort and consolation in their warmth and imaginative style. But, unfortunately, they lost appeal because they became “Demodes” meaning out of fashion and out of style.
